By all means, 7 foot tall center, Hassan Whiteside, is a very talented basketball player. However, in the NBA draft 32 other players were selected before this talented player from Marshall. The Sacramento Kings lucked out to land this quality player.
If anything, this story illustrates the type of stigma that follows some medical conditions, even if they seem to be responding well to medication or other treatment.
The job for Hassan Whiteside now becomes a job to prove the critics wrong and to shine as a great NBA player. Whiteside also holds in his hand the power to prove that with treatment persons with ADD can be effective and lead normal lives.

The rampant diagnoses of ADD in the land is a probably a result of not giving the boys swats with a nicely-planed baseball bat in school these days as a valid form of socialization.
Or is that just my Texas public school history talking?
Anyway, enter Nurse Ratchett and pHarma pill subsidy fur kinderen. We're all ADD now!
As for the player, I would guess that the player being drafted by the NBA supports my theme basically, since said player has reined in his disease enough to be deemed able to learn a playbook---or per NBA, has patience enough to stand around and wait his turn to showboat while travelling with the ball.
