
David Letterman stunned his studio audience Thursday night by admitting that he was the victim of a $2 million extortion attempt by a person claiming to have information that Letterman had multiple affairs with with female employees of "Late Show."
Letterman went to authorities, who later arrested the extortionist after Letterman (at the behest of authorities) wrote the person a phony $2 million check. The person attempting to blackmail Letterman was arrested today.
This morning Letterman testified before a grand jury and admitted that the details were true, he had slept with several female employees of "Late Show."
