A lie? For sure. But it does bare repeating since there are actual children here, and they need to know that there was something between them and the only parent who loved them. And I actually agree that we, as a society, own Michael in a way that trumps his own children. He made that deal a long time ago. but I appreciate someone, even Al Sharpten, telling these beautiful children that their daddy was all they imagined he was. Because he was. As was mine. As was yours.
Speaking at the Staples Center service today, Sharpton, addressing himself to Jackson's children, declared:
"Wudn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with."

Al Sharpton, in all his race baiting self, should not have been the one to tell that to MJ's children. I believe that Brooke Shields said more heartfelt things about MJ then Sharpton, the race-monger did.

Did anyone actually expect that the Rev Al would NOT to inject race into the situation? That's all that Al knows.

I don't see anything in that clip that injected race into the situation. I admit I didn't watch the circus, but there's nothing racial about this clip.

except of course Al Sharpton. The man makes his living off of racism. I didn't see his entire speech at the memorial. My post was about sharpton in general.

Yes, you're right about what he's managed to convey about himself, J.R. Fortunately, he capped it long enough to send a positive message to the children.
