  • Rosanna Arquette has really fallen from her once decent standing in Hollywood. The "Desperately Seeking Susan" star will play mother to the lead in the next of the American Pie series, "American Pie : Book of Love". Let's bow our heads.


  • Fox 2000 is acquiring screen rights to author Patricia Cornwell's best-selling book series on medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta, to develop as a vehicle for Angelina Jolie. There are 16 Scarpetta novels, meaning a franchise is hoped for, but this film won't be tied to a specific one.


  • From Cory Feldmans Blog: The Goonies cast together with Director Richard Donner and Executive Producer and Story writer Steven Spielberg have reunited for a very special photo shoot as an exclusive for the 20th anniversary of England's Premier Film Magazine EMPIRE! The Birthday issue which is being guest edited by Mr. Spielberg himself will hit stands in the UK this Thursday.


  • Simon Cowell says he still plans on exited American Idol when his contract ends in 2010. The 36 million a season contract lasts through next season was writen with the exit in mind. "When I signed the latest extension ... it felt like that was going to be the right amount of time," Cowell said. "It still feels right."


  • CBS Films has tapped Vanessa Hudgens to topline teen romancer "Beastly." Story's based on Alex Flinn's fantasy novel, a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" set in modern-day New York.


  • Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg will star in the drama "The Fighter." Based on a true story, "Fighter" tells of Boston fighter "Irish" Mickey Ward (Wahlberg) who reached the world lightweight championship with the assistance of his half-brother Dicky Eklund (Bale). Eklund was a potential star himself until destroying his career by turning to drugs and crime.


  • EW reports Brian Boitano will be getting his own show on The Food Network. In, and I'm not kidding you here, "What Would Brian Boitano Make?" the former Olympic figure skater will entertain guests while cooking them stuff.
