- A full 3-minute trailer for Spike Jonze's big screen adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are will screen in front of DreamWorks Animation's Monsters vs. Aliens, which hits theaters on March 27th 2009.
- Comedian and "Saturday Night Live" cast member Andy Samberg has been tapped to host the upcoming MTV Movie Awards on May 31st. In a statement, Samberg said he was "super excited" to be hosting the awards.
- "Moguls and Movie Stars: A History of Hollywood," a 10-part documentary series about the American film industry, is in the works from Turner Classic Movies. Set to premiere in 2010, "Moguls and Movie Stars" will consist of 10 one-hour documentaries, each focusing on a different era of movie history.
- Two music videos that represent actor Heath Ledger's last directorial work before his death in January 2008 will be released this year. Modest Mouse plans to release the animated video for "King Rat," Billboard has confirmed.
- The Hollywood Reporter says that New Line Cinema is bringing MacGyver to the big screen. "We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise," said New Line's Richard Brener. Jeez.. ever hear of the Titanic?
- Johnny Depp will be guest voicing on an upcoming extended episode of SpongeBob Squarepants. Depp will play King JKL, an islander who helps SpongeBob and pals get back home. Enjoy his entire scene here, including the way too obvious penis joke it opens with.
