- Dakota Fanning will star in the Twilight sequel New Moon. The actress will play Jane, a member of Italy's evil Volturi, in the anticipated movie, which opens in November.
- ER's Julianna Margulies has been tapped to headline the CBS drama pilot Good Wife, sources confirm to me semi-exclusively. The potential series focuses on a politician's wife who pursues her original career as a defense attorney.
- the CW is in advanced talks to bring Cynthia Watros (Lost) and Andrew McCarthy (Lipstick Jungle) onboard the Gossip Girl spinoff tentatively titled Lily. Brittany Snow is already onboard. A May 11 episode will star No Doubt, playing themselves in the 1980s before Gwen Stefani went solo, back when they were just kids.
- USA Network spy thriller "Burn Notice" is now the hottest show on cable. The skein finished its second season Thursday with two series highs: 6.1 million total viewers and 2.7 million adults 18-49.
