- Slumdog Millionaire swept the top prizes on Sunday with seven wins at the annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. Including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
- Actor/rapper Nick Cannon will replace Jerry Springer as the host of TV talent show America's Got Talent. Springer quit to concentrate on other projects and now Mariah Carey's husband will take over.
- Taylor Momsen and Thora Birch will star in "Cavegirls", a film adaptation of the 90s BBC series about teenage problems in a stone age world. The Bee Gees are in talks to write the music. The film will be an epic drama. No I'm just kidding. It's a comedy.
- Jennifer Lopez has signed to produce a remake of Argentina's hit teen telenovela format "Rebelde Way" (The Rebels) for Fox, which has Stateside rights. "Rebels" is about the members of a teen pop band who go to an elite private high school. How refreshing.
- Nick Lachey will guest star on The CW's "One Tree Hill" later this season. The former boy-bander-turned-reality-star will apparently be playing himself on the show.
