This Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 photograph provided by the Colorado National Monument shows a 1987 Dodge van that got stuck on a rock overhang , near Grand Junction, Colo., after the driver sent the vehicle off a cliff in an apparent suicide attempt. The 34-year-old male driver survived the incident.
Don't shed any tears. Turns out the driver was accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl. The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports that a judge signed a warrant Thursday accusing 34-year-old Daniel John Lyons of Clifton of felonies including sexual assault on a child.
An arrest warrant affidavit says the girl's mother reported the allegations to Mesa County sheriff's officials Monday.
Lyons spoke with investigators Wednesday. Later that day, he was rescued after calling 911 on his cell phone to report he had driven off the monument but survived after his van got stuck on a rock outcropping.

It is good that he survived from the accident so that appropriate justice will be given to the child. Killing himself would just make him guiltier.

Hey folks, has every person CHARGED with a crime been guilty of it? People who are innocent and charged with heinous crimes can get depressed and kill themselves as easily as guilty ones.

I'm glad the SOB didn't succeed! The sick, sorry bastard needs to go to prison for life. If he was able to kill himself that lttle boy never would be able to heal. Also If he was so innocent and was depressed for being accused of something so heinous, he wouldn't have called 911. He would have just jumped the rest of the way!
