- The Fox network is developing 'Bitches', a dramedy about a quartet of female friends in New York who are werewolves, from Superman Returns co-writer Michael Dougherty.
- Twentieth Century Fox's Jennifer Aniston-Owen Wilson starrer "Marley and Me" led the crowded pack of Christmas Day openers, grossing an estimated $14.8 million from 3,480 playdates to become the best opening ever for Dec. 25.
- Shawn Levy nixed a couple of characters from the upcoming "Night at the Museum2" at the last minute. "We actually had a whole Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong thing, where we were going to have them get into a wrestling match at the door of the capsule, like who goes first. But we thought it would be historically blasphemous!"
- HBO has sealed a deal with Maria Bello to develop and star in a new series for the pay cabler. Bello is set to star as a woman who's forced into a life of crime to support her three teenage sons after her husband is killed. Bello's character employs her sons as henchmen, leading them all down a destructive road.
- The judge presiding over Fox's suit against Warner Bros. over the latter's Zack Snyder-helmed action film "Watchmen" has issued a ruling that Fox has a copyright stake in the planned March release.
