That's pretty good numbers ... (Below threshold)1. Posted by Paul Hooson | November 16, 2008 5:49 PM | Score: 0 (0 votes cast)
That's pretty good numbers for the latest James Bond epic, even if it's not as good as the last film, CASINO ROYALE. Worldwide it should eventually far surpass it's huge budget compared to it's lower budget competitors at the box office.
My only real disgust is that FIREPROOF and SAW V crap continue to make any money at all. Just proves that some people will pay to watch anything.
And that HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL sure looks like a big moneymaker for Disney, despite the cheap "made for TV" quality budget. That looks better than real estate to invest in.

I've got to say it, I thought fireproof was pretty good, considering budget and technical resources used. Or is it the message presented by the film that you disagree with? It's made 29.5 mil in profit, I'd say it has an audience. If it were an "indie" film made for the same money preaching that gay marriage should be legal, well, look for it at oscar time. But make a "christian" movie, "oh it's crap". I just love the tolerance of Whorywood. Still # 13 after 8 weeks, not too shabby.
