The "Rickrolling" craze is finally paying off for British pop singer Rick Astley. He has become the surprise contender for best act ever at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool. Astley, who has never been nominated in the history of the event is up against Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day, U2, and Tokio Hotel. Fans can vote here for their choose of winner.

I love Rick Astley. Why?
Twenty years ago I spent a semester abroad in London with Syracuse University. When I would walk to their centre in Notting Hill, I would listen to a walkman (cassette tape version ... LOL!) with an FM Receiver tuned to Capital FM. Whenever "Never Gonna Give You Up" would come on, I would rock out. People must have laughed their ass of at me!
