CNN is reporting that the body of a woman believed to be Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the DC Madam, has been discovered near her mother's home in Florida.

Police are saying she committed suicide. The convicted Washington escort service operator Deborah Jeane Palfrey has committed suicide, according to preliminary The Associated Press reports.

Police in Tarpon Springs, Florida report that Deborah Jeane Palfrey was found in a shed near Palfrey's mother's home this morning.

A suicide note was recovered at the scene, but police did not reveal the contents.

Palfrey was convicted April 15 by a federal jury of running a prostitution service that serviced fatcats and powerbrokers in Washington DC.

She had denied there was prostitution going on, unless it happened without her knowledge.
