You may recall in February we told you about a Marine and the dog that followed his unit throughout Iraq. The dog was sent, through donations, back to San Diego to be with a friend of the Marines and out of harms way. Now the Marines and the dog named Nubs are reunited.
Early Saturday morning Major Dennis met up with Nubs after several weeks of separation.
Dennis' family and friends greeted the Major and Nubs about 4 a.m. in San Diego. His family is from the Tampa Bay area.
"Nubs was a little nervous at first with all the people around us in the dark at Camp Pendleton," said Dennis, who was returning from Iraq with nearly 100 other Marines. "So I hit one knee and said, 'Hey, buddy, what's going on?' He went crazy and made that anxious, excited noise he makes when he wants you to keep petting.

Best story I've read in such a long time, Tracey! I'm so happy Nubs, and for Major Dennis making it home alive and well.
