Whoopi Goldberg was introduced as the show's latest co-host Wednesday, joining Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the panel of ABC's hit daytime show.
Goldberg replaces Rosie O'Donnell, who ended her controversial -- but ratings-boosting -- tenure in May.
Goldberg has won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony in her career. The Oscar was a best supporting actress award for her performance in 1990's "Ghost."

Whoopi is WAY too sane and intelligent to be on The View. I predict she'll get tired of the show within a few months and leave.

Wow! I am excited that Whoopi is on The View. I listen to her radio show and she is wonderful. O'Donnell is just a publicity hound and I have never liked her or her view point.
Whoopi is an inciteful women who has clawed her way up. Way to Go WHOOPI! - Of course now all you women have to help the rest of us who are still clawing. Way to Stand Up Whoopi!!!!

Whoopie is a smarter, smoother, and more articulate version of Rosie.
