This is the extraordinary moment the Queen lost her temper and stormed out of a photoshoot, after Annie Leibovitz dared ask her to remove her crown.
The footage is taken from a new BBC documentary entitled A Year With The Queen and captures the moment when Her Majesty lost her cool.
During the program Leibovitz sizes up the Queen in her full regalia and ventures: "I think it will look better without the crown, because the garter robe is so..." Before the photographer can finish saying "extraordinary", the Queen raises her eyebrows, fixes the snapper with an icy stare, and snaps: "Less dressy? What do you think this is?" pointing to what she is wearing.
TV cameras follow the Queen storming off with an official lifting the large train of her blue velvet cape off the floor as the Queen tells her lady-in-waiting: "I'm not changing anything. I've had enough dressing like this thank you very much."

Annie Leibovitz is an idiot.
The Queen isn't some movie starlet who wears a tiara becuase she loves diamonds and "it looks really cool with the new hair extensions". The Queen wears it because it is what has been done by British Monarchs for hundreds of years, and tradition is everything.
Leibovitz showed no respect, and I'm glad Queen Elizabeth told her off!

Leibovitz is one of the world's best photographers, and of course the queen has been photographed not wearing her crown thousands of times.
The crown was distracting from the beauty of the robe, but Queens know best - just check out the pompous Lantry's comment above - lol!

Turns out--surprise--the BBC had gotten it wrong (click on my name for link?):
"The BBC has said sorry to the Queen after wrongly implying that she stormed out of a photo-shoot with one of America's most famous snappers.
...
But the footage of her "storming out" was actually of her walking to the shoot in Buckingham Palace."

If they deliberately edited footage out of sequence, the BBC didn't make a "mistake," but instead planned a deliberate smear. But that's what we expect from the jackasses at the BBC.
