- Ryan Gosling will join Rachel Weisz in Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones," which begins filming in October in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.
- Russell Crowe will join Leonardo DiCaprio in Body of Lies, the William Monahan-scripted adaptation of the David Ignatius novel that Ridley Scott will direct for Warner Bros.
- Oscar Winner Mena Suvari will star with Jack Huston, Caterina Murino and Richard E. Grant in ''The Garden of Eden'', a John Irvin-directed adaptation of an Ernest Hemingway novel.
- Laurence Fishburne has snagged the film rights to "The Alchemist". Fishburne wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, which is based on the book by Paulo Coelho. "The Alchemist" is about a traveler journeying the world during the Inquisition in order to find man's purpose in the world.
