- "Garfield" producer John Davis is set to bring computer game "The SIMS" to the big screen.The five-year-old franchise is the best selling PC game in history, with worldwide sales topping 85 million, bringing in over $1.6 billion. Pic will be a live-action version. Story is under wraps with talent yet to be named.
- Jerry Bruckheimer and writers Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot are set to take on a big-screen version of the TV classic "The Lone Ranger". Collider.com says to expect a trade announcement about the new project over the next few days.
- An Inconvenient Sequel? With the success of the biodegradable original, Paramount are said to be looking at doing a sequel to Al Gore's smash hit "An Inconvenient Truth". Davis Guggenheim, director of the film, tells IESB, "I'm meeting with Paramount next week to talk about a sequel to Inconvenient Truth. Too early to talk about details..."
- Egypt is so hot right now. Producer John Heyman's $130 million "Nefertiti" project, Exodus Films' $15 million "The Exodus Scrolls" and Blighty shingle Young Legends' $5 million "Young Cleopatra" have all inked deals with Egypt's Media Production City.
