- Revered moviemaker Roman Polanski has sparked a new controversy at the Cannes Film Festival after storming out of a press conference. The director grew restless during a tribute to the cinema and complained journalists were asking "empty" questions, before inviting fellow moviemakers including Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Wim Wenders to join him in walking out.
- Al Pacino and Robert De Niro have been confirmed to appear together in a new film, according to Variety. The film, Righteous Kill, will be only the second time that the two legendary actors have appeared on-screen together. Producer Randall Emmett said: "They're friends, and this really all got started from that."
- Audrey Tautou is set to star in a biopic as the legendary French fashion designer Coco Chanel. Anne Fontaine is set to direct the feature, which will focus on Chanel's childhood and early womanhood.
