Today's episode of the Ellen Degeneres show marked the second time in a week the day time host insinuated she was a lesbian on air.
The show is celebrating International Day for all the countries that carry syndication. The international talk led Ellen to share a story about the time girlfriend Portia de Rossi was in Australia and the time difference caused her to forget P's birthday. And in the international food segment of the show Ellen even referred to Portia being in the audience and the blonde beauty was shown smiling away in the crowd.
It seemed like and an obvious set up to mention her piece of ass girlfriend but I can't fault her. Rosie O recently mentioned that Ellen wasn't allowed to talk about being gay on her show. Today's remark and last weeks mention of 'not being completely straight' seem like Ellen's way of flipping Ro the bird. You go girl.

Sounds more like Ellen caved in to the PC pressure. The suits may not want Ellen to mention what side of the plate she swings from, but if Rosie brought up the issue, then Ellen may have felt she had to stick by her buds. Ellen knows she comes off as likable and funny to the mainstream if she doesn't make the lesbian thing her end-all be-all. While mentioning it now and again is fine, I don't think she wants to treat her main squeeze like Kathy Lee Gifford used to treat her kids--fodder for conversation.
