According to the New York Police Department, the hip-hopster was pulled over at 12:48 a.m. after patrolmen determined that the windows on his 2006 GMC Yukon Denali were overly darkened.
NYPD spokesman Detective John Sweeney said that officers detected a "strong odor of alcohol on his breath," and that he exhibited signs of intoxication. For example, Sweeney said, Rhymes "dropped his wallet to the ground" while attempting to show his identification.
Rhymes submitted to a field sobriety test and his blood-alcohol level was clocked at 0.147, nearly double New York state's 0.08 percent legal limit.
A source tells TMZ that the rapper told officers that he'd only had "a shot of Hennessy" before he took the wheel of his Denali.
