Ellen DeGeneres, who has hosted the Oscars, the Grammys and the Emmys, will do the honors at Wednesday's 'American Idol' charity event, which will boast appearances by the likes of Bono, Gwen Stefani and Pink.

"Idol Gives Back," a special two-hour results show, will benefit relief programs for children and young people in extreme poverty.

It will feature performances from the "Idol" stage as well as from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, where DeGeneres will be based. It will air on Fox from 8-10 p.m.
