Britney the Mother. It's Everyone For Themselves

Photogs caught up with recovering party princess Britney Spears yesterday leaving an L.A. eatery with -- get this -- her kids! But as you notice, Sean Preston is facing forward and, better still, Jayden's carrier is just rested in Britneys less than capable lap.

It's hard to light a cigarette for your kid if his car seat is facing the other direction.

(Side note, Sean Preston should be facing forward...1 year facing rear)

Are these people in the front or back seat?

They are obviously in the back seat, which means there is nothing wrong with how sean preston is put into the vehicle.

The problem is that she's holding a carrier in her lap. If it has a child in it, that's bad, if not, why the fuss?

The carrier doesn't look like it's on her lap to me. It looks like she's sitting between the two car seats with her arm over the baby seat. I used to sit like this all the time (can take care of both kids at the same time....and yeah, you turn the kid around when he's about 1).
