It seems Grey's Homophobe, Isaiah Washington, has decided a pay check is worth the pain of working along side that pesky cake boy, TR Knight. The full statement is at the jump but I think we can all sing along with this old tune...
"I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance. By repeating the word Monday night, I marred what should have been a perfect night for everyone who works on Grey's Anatomy. I can neither defend nor explain my behavior. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I've asked for help.
I know the power of words, especially those that demean. I realize that by using one filled with disrespect I have hurt more than T.R. and my colleagues. With one word, I've hurt everyone who has struggled for the respect so many of us take for granted. I welcome the chance to meet with leaders of the gay and lesbian community to apologize in person and to talk about what I can do to heal the wounds I've opened.
T.R.'s courage throughout this entire episode speaks to his tremendous character. I hold his talent, and T.R. as a person, in high esteem. I know a mere apology will not end this, and I intend to let my future actions prove my sincerity."

The apology is well crafter... (Below threshold)1. Posted by TFred | January 19, 2007 8:32 AM | Score: 0 (0 votes cast)
The apology is well crafter. He's hired a very talented writer and attorney. I believe Mr. Washington needs to take one step further and leave the show. He's run over TR, tha gay community and fans of the show two times with "the bus" and now expects everyone to get up dust off and move on. Mr. Washington needs to move on. The other choice is for fans to take action and turn the show off until either he or ABC makes that happen.

He said something not PC! For crying out loud. Then he apologized to thousands of people who got their panties in a wad about one freakin word when they were not even involved. This is not something one should lose their job over. Just forget about it.

BDC, know the facts or shut up. He said something non PC, fine. Even though it would get him fired from a regular job, fine, we'll forget that. He then chose to announce in the press room at the Globes that he didn't say it. THAT is what continued the ordeal. His being a lying jack ass. So now he finally allowed someone else to speak for him and we should all forget it? No.
He can't have it both ways. And he can't depend on the people to like him and make him a star and then tell the people to ignore what they don't like when it doesn't work his way. idiot.
