A TEENAGER has been charged with rape in Britain over an alleged incident at an 18th birthday party for Harry Potter star Rupert Grint.

Joshua Lodge, of Hertford, is accused of an attack at a party in the village of Watton At Stone on Saturday September 9.

Hertfordshire Police confirmed last night that the alleged attack took place at a party for teenage star Grint.

Grint plays Harry's faithful sidekick Ron Weasley in the smash-hit film series.

"We are investigating an allegation of a serious sexual assault which occurred in Watton At Stone on the night of September 9," a police spokesman said.

"Eighteen-year-old Joshua Lodge of Hertford has been charged with an offence of rape.
