"Underworld" actress Kate Beckinsale agrees to take over Sarah Jessica Parker's role in the horror movie "Vacancy."

A spokeswoman for Screen Gems, the company that is producing the film, said Parker bowed out of the thriller for personal reasons.

Beckinsale and Luke Wilson will portray a couple who discover video cameras in their motel room. They eventually find out they are being taped for a snuff film.

Nimrod Antal will direct the movie, while Frank Whaley will play the anti-hero.

Whaley acted in "World Trade Center," which was directed by Oliver Stone.

Beckinsale most recently starred in "Click," an Adam Sandler comedy.
