According to GLAAD, the new TV season features nine homosexual characters, a decrease from last year's tally of 10 and representing 1.3 percent (down from 1.4 percent) of the lead or supporting characters on the six major networks (MyNetworkTV generously included). What's more, the prominence of any such roles has diminished, thanks to the adieus of shows such as Will & Grace and Out of Practice. Says GLAAD's president, "It's clear that the broadcast networks have a long way to go before they accurately reflect the diversity of their audience and our society." Hmm, Mr. Eko, do you have something maybe you want to tell us?
