British actor Rupert Everett has joined a campaign to stop a Starbucks coffee shop opening on his favorite London street. The An Ideal Husband star, who lives near the picturesque Lamb's Conduit Street in Bloomsbury, central London, compares the escalating growth of the coffee franchise to a "cancer." He has signed a petition along with 1,000 other residents and traders against the proposed cafe. He says, "Starbucks is spreading like a cancer. Nobody in the neighborhood wants it, including me. There are plenty of diners and coffee shops there already."
