Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has confessed that she hit a parked car while she was attempting to exit a car park on Thursday (6-8-06) in L.A., but insists it was the paparazzo's fault for "disorientating" beforehand, according to a published report. The socialite was caught red-handed leaving the scene of the accident without providing any contact information - a cameraman caught her on video - which, according to California law, is a violation that is punishable for up to six months behind bars. But 'The Simple Life' star explained that she left her contact information with an employee at the car park.
But the socialite's publicist Elliot Mintz says, "Did she commit a crime? No. She was swarmed by paparazzi. The intensity of the lights, flashbulbs, momentarily disoriented her."
"She backed up, there was a minor fender-bender. No injuries. She then told me she notified one of the parking people at the facility how to contact her and asked the person to please pass that along to the owner of the struck car."
"Paris is a very responsible and a very good driver, she takes her driving seriously. This was unfortunate and it will be handled appropriately."
TMZ.com reports that Paris Hilton has been questioned six times for several traffic violations since the beginning of this year (06).
TMZ also reports that Hilton is being sued for being "legally responsible for a chain collision on a freeway in Los Angeles County."
