From MTV NEWS:
As we've come to expect from Madonna, her latest tour, which she kicked off Sunday at the Forum, is so provocative that it's hard to count the ways.Let's see, there was the whole hanging on a cross, wearing a crown of thorns thing. The riding the rhinestone-studded, black leather carousel like she's the main attraction at the erotic shop across town thing. And, of course, that nasty George Bush comment thing, which she brought back from her Coachella show last month.
The show started off nice and sweet with images of horses on the screens and Madonna in full equestrian attire descending from the ceiling in a one-ton disco ball. A closer look at that outfit, however, revealed she's going for the dominatrix look and that whip wasn't meant for a horse.

As a Christian, I am a little offended that she is hanging herself on a cross with a crown or thorns.
However, I can't complain too much, because I don't know why she doing it or in what contex she is using the whole scene. However, with Madonna, it can't be good....

I saw the show last night and it is being taken way out of context. She performs this while world injustices, such as world hunger, Aids, gang violence, etc. flash on a screen. It was well done and not offensive.

Far from offended...I'm simply bored with her.
Next, please.

Instead of hanging ona cross (sorta, standing actually) how about an actual hanging with a rope.
Followed by drawing and quartering.

How about people stop worrying about what celebrities do to entertain? That's all it is - entertainment - and she's got you right where she wants you. You are talking about her, and even bad pblicity is good publicity, folks. Let's get a clue, and worry about our president who rules the world based on his religious beleifs, and not worry about madonna and hers, which are far more harmless than say, Bush taking away people's rights, or raping Americans at the gas pumps. Prioritize people!!

i was at the show yesterday, she was on the cross while singing "live to tell" (i guess it kind of fits?), and had all the backup singers and stuff dressed to fit the theme as well. i'm not a christian, and even though the song kind of fit the situation, i found it pretty sacreligious.
as for the carousel, all i can say is... WOW. she not only rode the carousel (pun intended), but she also used the pole as a strip pole type thing, minus the stripping. AND- this was during "like a virgin." oh, the irony!

No matter what she does, there will be someone
to critize or take offense...simply because
she IS Madonna. You got a president who was
inplicated with vote rigging, caught in
various lies, got our country involved in a
war that is STILL going on, is rumored to have
had pre info about 911, you got others
in politics using their computers like its
a sex chat direct to teens, and who knows
what else is going on with politicians, who
have yet to be caught...but its Madonna, who is
ruining our country. If she stays out of sight
for awhile, then they talk about her worrying
about getting old--she comes out in better shape than ever, and they talk about THAT! They talk
about being too preoccupied with sexuality. She
writes a few children's book, and the same folk talk negatively about that. For her to get on
you guys' nerves so much, you sure seem to spend
alot of time discussing her. Some of you same
insignificant bitches, will be BACK (though you
don't like her, remember?) the next time Madonna
does something, to inform us, yet again, how much
you are tired of her. When will you be tired
enough, perhaps, to finally go elsewhere, where
the spotlight is on someone you do l-i-k-e???
People!
