From Zap2it:

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has selected Conan O'Brien to host this year's Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC. Mr. O'Brien previously hosted the event four years ago, the last time NBC aired the show.

This year's Emmy-producing team will combine veteran award show experience and late-night comedy savvy. Ken Ehrlich will return to executive produce the show for a third time and will be joined by Jeff Ross, who executive produces "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."

"We are excited about creating a dynamic and innovative Emmy telecast with our imaginative, award-winning executive producers Ken Ehrlich and Jeff Ross," said Rick Ludwin, executive VP of late-night and prime-time series for NBC Entertainment. "And Conan has proven to be a perfect Emmy host -- he loves TV and is very funny and unpredictable."

The 58th Annual Emmy Awards will be held earlier than usual, Aug. 27, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
