With all the minors getting trapped these days it was really only a matter of time before a marketing exec saw an opportunity to shill MP3 players via the evening news. So reports the UK Independent:
As rescuers fought to reach the trapped miners, food and fresh water were delivered to the men through a small plastic pipe, along with clothes and entertainment including four iPod players.
The tie in with Dave Grohl has yet to yield a new Foo Fighter release but I can only assume its coming. Cheers to the Melbourne Herald which gave us the winning headline 'Foo for Thought.'
Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl has a sent a message of support to two Australian gold miners who have been stuck underground for days, inviting them for a beer once they are rescued.

In Dave's defense (and Ipod's too) the guys did request an Ipod and some Foo Fighters songs on it.

How can you refuse two dudes who might die?
Although it could have very well been a Sears & Kenmore/Extreme Home Makeover type of embedded advertising I think this is more a case of some dude stuck in a mine who wants to rock out a little bit while he's stuck underground wondering if he's getting paid overtime for being down there.
