Report: Rosie O'Donnell to be named new co-host of The View

Extra is reporting that Rosie O'Donnell will be named as the newest co-host of The View, replacing the exiting Meredith Vieira. ABC is expected to make the official announcement tomorrow, Friday, April 28.

The short list of other candidates reportedly included Connie Chung, Patricia Heaton and Soledad O'Brien.

The View is one of my favorite shows on Daytime T.V. I have been watching it since day one. I was very sad to see Meredith leave. I realize that it is for career reasons. I am also a huge fan of Rosie, so this will be a warm welcome. Please keep in mind that no one can ever really replace Meredith who is such a warm an wonderful person. Best of luck to both ladies.
